Holy Monastery of Panagia Prousiotissa
According to tradition, the name of the Monastery is due to the miraculous icon of “Panagia Prousiotissa”. This image originates from Bursa in Asia Minor and is believed to be the work of the Evangelist Luke.

It is the only monument of the early Christian period in Evritania. From the inscription discovered below the site of the Holy Table, it seems that the church was a three-aisled royal church, built in the 5th century.The inscription states that at the same time the construction of the mosaic floor was made, in which there are wonderful artistic representations of the animal kingdom with birds and marine species. The church remained unprotected for many years and suffered several destructions. Today it is protected with a special cover.A hierarchical service is held in the church once a year. The church is dedicated to the Martyr Leonides, Bishop of Athens, who martyred in Corinth in 251 AD.
